Is it me or are gaming chairs not that comfortable? For a piece of furniture designed to be sat in for a number of hours at a time you'd think there'd be more padding in the butt. They'd be more like a cushy lawyer's chair, those bitches know how to sit.
They are terrible office chairs, they "look cool" but most use some of the cheapest stamped metal tilt mechanism you find on under $100 chairs.

You just made me realize the most comfortable chair I ever sat in was a lawyer's. The office just had regular (very nice) office chairs but the one in his library was this fancy thing with brass studs holding the upholstery on that I got to sit on when (e.g.) sorting through paper medical records.

I think the latter lol. CEOs for midsize + companies usually have very expensive furniture/chairs. It's about comfort (and sometimes status) for their main man.

We spend a lot of time trying to justify the shit we put up with from clients, and want to make as much of our work experience comfortable for ourselves because the interactions with clients and opposition can be so uncomfortable so often. Also, there is a certain prestige that comes with a fancy chair that any sole practitioner/small firm eventually thinks they need to cultivate.
Big firm life is different, you won't get the custom made chair until you're 30 years into your career, but as an associate you will have access to a nice kitchen, tons of amenities, laundry service... Everything you need to keep you in the office billing hours.
I splashed out on a Noble chair and can very easily sit my ass on it for 8 hrs, including naps. Blame Elden Ring.
It really depends on the material in the actual seat part where your cheeks sit. On these the foam is pretty sturdy and moulds slightly but never really gets uncomfortable. They're around £300+ but having used it for well over 3 years regularly, for hours at a time it has been 100% worth it
Absolutely terrible. I used to use a $250 gaming chair that not only was uncomfortable, but also had the vinyl cracking and flaking off after less than 2 years.
Got tired of that shit and upgraded to a $350-ish web/mesh seat and back "Executive" office chair. Not only is it more comfortable, but it's also very professional looking for my work video calls.

Hey same. Been on HRT for a year and I pass everywhere I go until I open my mouth. I'm still struggling to start practicing because the whole "guy trying to sound like a girl" thing makes me so embarrassed I want to to cut out my vocal cords entirely.

I don't feel super safe being an out trans woman in my area. If I could come close to passing, I would go out as myself.
But I'm just going until I male fail. Hrt has made some noticeable changes to my body, so that's been hard to hide.
I know I look goofy and awkward when I practice makeup, and because im not good at it, it's hard to practice because of dysphoria. My brain just expects to see something or someone different. Its so dumb. But I gotta push past it.

Cis woman here...I feel awkward af when I wear makeup because I'm simply not good at it. I can see the clown mask. If it's something you never master, don't worry about it. Plenty women are makeup free and you can be, too.
If you want to master it, though, there are plenty of podcasts (one woman does make up and talks to you about murder cases). You can also go to places like Sephora and have them teach you while they do a make over.
